I wasn’t even going to eat out today. My coworker was going to walk over and I decided to “take a walk” with her. Pebbles Cafe is conveniently located on De Anza, close to Stevens Creek. In other words, it’s about a 5 minute walk from my office.
They have the normal cafe sandwich fares – the turkey, ham, pastrami, roast beef, and any combinations of the above.
But what did I spy on the bottom of the menu? That’s right, a bulgoki sandwich. More accurately, a bulgoki cheesesteak. Wait what? That’s something I expect from a food truck. All calorie counting went out the window (I will have to run tonight) and I ordered one.
My friend ordered the North Beach and it looked pretty good, except they put onion in and forgot the avocado.
They really should give you the number the register generates. When it got busy the lady handing out the sandwiches could not keep the orders straight.
But back to the food. It was a pretty damn good cheesesteak. The meat was marinaded just right, but not too salty. The cheese was still melty when I got back to the office. The roll was soft and spongy. So yeah, if I feel like being bad again and want a tasty sandwich in a convenient location I would go back and order it.
